The Rayburn Energiser conversion was designed to address the common issue customers have with older Rayburns becoming obsolete, specifically the gas models, and difficulties in sourcing parts. Added to the problems of condemned chimneys, oil tanks or leaking heat exchangers, the Rayburn Energiser electric conversion gives a very cost-effective alternative. For some users it is as simple as getting away from the hassle and mess of solid fuel, or fossil fuels in general; converting their Rayburn to electric is the obvious choice.
Conversion involves fitting two independently controlled elements, one for the ovens and one for the hobs, giving total flexibility of operation. Hobs reach temperature within 15 minutes from cold and the top oven 1:45 hours from cold to roasting temperature. The lower oven is used as a warming oven on all models. As the controls are independent, the oven temperatures are not affected by hob usage. For the familiar and friendly warmth the Rayburn can be left on 24/7 or can be used intermittently as desired. Once converted there is no requirement for a chimney, so your Rayburn can be relocated if required. External oven venting can remain as per the existing installation, or can be converted to room venting.
The Energiser conversion is designed to turn you Rayburn in to a cooker-only model meaning alternative means of hot water and heating will need to be provided, such as an immersion heater or boiler. A dedicated 13 amp fused supply will need to be provided, a timer can be incorporated to control the Rayburn, or two if separate timing of hotplate and oven is required.
